About artist Missy Pellone:
My art journey began at an early age; ever since I can remember I have had a yearning to create. I have always believed that God’s calling on my life would have to do with whichever avenue in art I pursued, so in high school I genuinely began searching for my niche. I did not discover my love for painting until I took a painting class at the University of Michigan in 2013. It was not always easy to believe in myself and show others my personal art for fear of them not liking it, but I remind myself to have courage because there will always be people who don't believe in you, but you can’t let yourself become one of those people. Since then I have created many paintings and have shown my work in several art shows.
Local to Detroit, Michigan, I have recently set up a Facebook page (missypellone.art) and am currently painting commissioned pieces. I paint a wide array of subjects and themes, specializing in custom paintings that are tailored to the requester. When I am painting from inspiration I tend to paint landscapes, typically with the sky as a focal point. I usually work with oil on canvas and watercolor paint on paper, but I work with acrylic on other material (wood, metal, etc.) as well.
I am always inspired by nature; the beauty of God’s design consistently leaves me in awe. Especially the sky; it always captivates me, I feel like it could be a glimpse into what Heaven looks like. I am not quite sure how God is going to use my gift of painting, but I know he gave me this gift for a reason. I truly hope to inspire others into pursuing an avenue in art whether it is for career, pleasure, or any other reason.
