God and Nature Spring 2024
By Andrew Budek-Schmeisser
The olden days are on the run,
they say, and all progress is good,
and anything, now, can be done,
but not everything should.
Take AI, the current fashion,
that hip bright new technology
by which I think we will be lashing
our world to mediocrity.
Machines, in truth, will never ponder
the purpose of their worth,
nor do more than ape the wonder
that God has placed in us at birth,
leaving us Eve’s Garden choice
to follow God’s, or Satan’s, voice.
Andrew Budek-Schmeisser is a writer and poet, author of "Blessed Are the Pure of Heart" and "Emerald Isle". His work can be found at his web site: Blessed Are the Pure of Heart, and many of his sonnets have appeared on the Steve Laube Agency blog.
