God and Nature Spring 2021
By Katie McFarland
All we, like oil, are incoherent
No inner polarity to guide us
For us, a smudge of 6 protons, 6 electrons, 6 neutrons - matter shattered - labels us aright
But, this is just the number of man
We are more
God caused His mercy to become appalled.
His truth. His troth.
His Word made carbon-covenant and dwelled here
All our sooty naught- received, covered, transformed
Made to cohere with the Living Water
A stable ad-mixture
Like loving like.
Emulsifying propitiation
Christ's blood
Rend your heart
Worthily lament
Don't disdain dust- it is from here we can see God's glory
Consecrated-carbon, He would have you for His own.
