God and Nature Summer 2019
By CJ Eyte
It starts with a pearl-drop blood splash
falling from His smile into our darkness.
A trust-rock submerged below sin-eddies
into a fixed point forever and eternal ever.
This baby-river is alive and bubbles up;
a golden torrent rising from the deeps.
Ripples dance on the sublime surface,
welcoming the real revelation spout.
This is the cross-cascade, stand back and marvel!
A faith tower thrusts up high and arches over;
reaching, stretching, enlarging, consuming;
flowing freely, spilling into pool after pool.
Behold the raging falls roaring with laughter!
Swirling, twirling, pulling floating dead leaves
and washing bits of broken trees, and
unwarranted debris, making all of it clean.
_
When I stand by the edge of any water spot,
be it delicate rivulet or oceanic swell
and fix my weary gaze into hidden depths,
remarking the shades of heavenly lustre -
I’m sure I catch a glimpse of the one
unseen – no matter if I don’t, for truth is perceived.
He did walk on waves and stilled the storm;
giving to his cost, creating my cross-cascade.
