Joel Funk is an associate professor at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR, teaching courses in microbiology, plant biology, and ecology. Prior to teaching at JBU, he conducted research on respiratory viruses at a research medical center and worked at a biotech company in Denver, CO. He has a Ph.D. in biology (virology) and an M.S. in Entomology (both from Kansas State University), and a B.A. in Agriculture from Tabor College.
