God and Nature 2025 #1

By Christopher Eyte
She’s so alone, so tired and bleeding.
Crowds push her. A lonely lady.
Poor soul. She stumbles. She falls.
Chokes on clay dust. Eyes streaming.
A flutter of blue. A man. Bearded.
Seems special. People excited.
She stands up. Must stop bleeding.
Darling woman. She forces through.
The man. Back to her. She reaches…
Touch.
He doubts. Others seem so certain.
“We saw him. With our own eyes.”
Mind clouded. Thoughts confused.
This is too much: “Unless I see…”
He’s the only one talking now.
“... with my own eyes …”
Tears. Sharp breath. Pupils dance.
A flutter of blue. A man. Smiling.
Touch.
Me. Pebbled beach. Raging ocean.
Where is He? Still can’t see Him.
Keep looking. Same old. Wind blows.
Sun shines. Even so... that’s not Him.
Home. ‘Now we know in part...’
I want that part fully. And then more.
My children holding hands. Dancing.
“Spin me around,” says one, laughing.
A flutter of blue.
Touch.
