God and Nature Summer 2024
By Christopher J. Eyte
No words in my head, kaleidoscope
Dust strikes, I’ll write something though
I’ll explore those stars feeling for you
“Again, pull out the creativity again.”
Impossible. My clay too feeble to
Sound out shapes, colours, magnitude
I can try in pithy paltry snapshot ways
Treading and slopping noisily hoping
For a scoop on the scope of the sheer
Wider than widespread existential,
Ethereal, eternal firmament, which dwarfs
Majestically human utterances no matter
How acclaimed, how much repeated
Silence is better to absorb your mystery
Heart songs whispering out, gushing in
Gentle awakening streams from my centre
Praising you, Lord, Just praising you.
_
‘For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.’
(2 Corinthians 5:1, NIV)
