God and Nature 2025 #4
By Megan Behrmann
The world tilts
And spins
I am not afraid but
Enthralled
Caught in delightful swirling eddies
Here at the intersect of known and opaque-
Somehow the world is bigger than we know
And yet in ways, smaller also
It is a kaleidoscopic blend
Of laughter and joy
As my perspective twists
And my understanding of the world
Expands
Is changed
Is challenged and grown
I am bursting with delight
As my brain sparks
And my heart beats
Mind racing to keep pace
With the speed of imagination
-I am filled with hope
The pure curiosity to know
Burns bright
As I look at my peers
Eyes alight
We desire truth even as
We desire play
Finding joy in the seeking
And joy in the learning-
They are one and the same
-I am filled with hope
I see in these my peers
the altruistic push to grow
Our tools and ability to help
They have compassion to serve
They want to be good stewards
They want to preserve.
-I am filled with hope
Because I see so much good
In this.
In them.
A Hebrew carpenter,
Recruiting from fishermen to scribes
Had a one-question interview:
"Ask and seek"
"Come and see"
Come test, explore, have curiosity
Be persistent with questions
And humble with assumptions
Your wondering is welcome:
Truth will prove itself true
And when Truth is revealed
An offer:
"Follow me"
I breathe deep and free beneath
A sky studded with exploratory wonder.
I am at peace, knowing
We can approach the unknown excitedly
We have nothing to fear from Truth
And I am at rest, knowing
We have nothing to attack or prove just
An invitation to learn;
The world is open to investigation
And there is more to discover
More to uncover
More to reveal.
I find myself sure that
We, finite beings, will never
Know all there is to know
It's an eternal game of seek and find
Infinite creator hidden and revealed
In rapturous beauty
And crafted complexity.
What a gift it is, to ask freely.
To seek, knock, and question boldly.
To venture, together, into mystery.
Truth will prove itself true.
